Number of countries in Africa

Geographically, There are 55 countries in Africa but, as per United Nations, there are 54 countries in Africa because Western Sahara is disputed territory. Apart from these countries, there are three dependent territories named Reunion, Mayotte and Saint Helena.

Reunion and Mayotte are the dependent territories of France, and Saint Helena is dependent territory of U.K.
